“… Neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon thee.
We don’t have answers. We don’t know what to do. We don’t have any programs in our churches that are changing whole communities and our society. It’s just not happening. What we need is God!
How do you pray for revival? Psalm 85 is a good place to begin: “You showed favor to Your land, O Lord. You restored the fortunes of Jacob. You forgave the iniquity of Your people and covered all their sins. You set aside all Your wrath and turned from Your fierce anger. Restore us again, O Lord our Savior, and put away Your displeasure toward us. Will You be angry with us forever? Will You prolong Your anger through all generations? Will You not revive us again, that Your people may rejoice in You?”
Based upon this passage we will find ourselves praying,
- Lord, revive us again; do it again in our day. Lord, this is what you have done in the past and this is what we ask you to do again in our lives and in our nation. We are desperate for revival. I, personally, am desperate for your reviving touch and ask for that today in my own life. Wake me up to the reality of your transforming Presence in my life! In Jesus’ Name. Amen!
